Round one of the Maidstone Road Tennis League is now underway and will
run until SUNDAY 27 SEPTEMBER,
2009
New members are warmly invited to join the new Beginners' Round running:
Monday 28 September to Sunday 22 November, 2009
Entry fee £10, deadline Friday 25 September

The league is open to everyone, whether they be a beginner or an advanced player, though you will
only play people of a roughly similar standard. The entrance fee for each round is just £10 and for that you get about five
or six matches (to be played over an eight week period, at a time that suits you), the chance to win £20 (if you win your
group) and a free can of balls if you complete three matches by the mid way point of the round

All players who complete THREE matches by the midway point of each round receive a FREE can of tennis balls!

How it works
- It's a mixed (men and women) singles league
- It’s divided into groups of about 6 players of a similar standard
- Everyone in their group plays everyone else in their group
- Matches take place on the courts at Maidstone Road Sports Ground unless another venue suits both parties
- Matches are the best of three tie break sets (allow 2 hours per match)
- It’s up to everyone to arrange their own matches
- You get one point for every set you win
- If you complete three matches by the mid way point you get a FREE can of tennis balls
- WINNERS of each group WIN £20, and receive a winner's certiticate
- At the end of the round, where possible, the top two players in each group go up, two go down and two stay
put. For those who want to, it then starts again with a new round.
- It costs £10 to join each round (this does not include the cost of the courts)
